My name is Karl Hirschberger and since I bought the Dr. Mabuse maxi in 1984 I am quite a fan of Propaganda.
Since that I collect everything I get hold of. As now I own nearly every release there is, I had the idea
of an internet site. I hope it contains enough information and brings someone not knowing the band
very well to the idea of perhaps buying one or two releases.
In my opinion, Propaganda is the best proof that Synthypop has been very creative and full of ideas in the eighties.
In the nineties, this subject is rearoused by many DJs and producers, and meets the listener as sample or hook in
many a production. Clearly, nowaday-hearers mostly don't know the originals, so that for them it is
something completely new. I have been a DJ for 13 years now and the finest experience I had in that case was:
As Gompie were succesful with their title "Who the f*** is Alice", I played the original from Smokie,
whereafter some guests rushed to me and cried what shitty version that would be. None of them knew Smokie, what a shame.
In 1998 "Heartbeat" was released by Blank & Jones, who used the line "Why does it hurt when my heart misses the beat"
(Dr. Mabuse), although no sample and not Claudia's original voice (until now I have been left in peace by this heresy).
Last not least Claudia's voice is one of the few that fascinates each time anew.
My wishes for the next years are the following:

# Many superb mixes of any new Propaganda singles (a B.T. mix or Nalin & Kane mix
or Paul Oakenfold mix wouldn't be so bad)
(i think this wishes will be impossible instead of the first, its only a dream)
